Howdy & welcome to my first blog!!!
For those who know me well know the World Race has been on my heart for what feels like FOREVER…since 11th grade actually…2015. It’s been a long time coming!!!
For those who don’t know me well OR have never heard of the World Race,, you’re probably wondering what this is all about!
WELL LET ME TELL YOU
The World Race is an 11 month mission trip in which I (along with a group of other 21-35yr olds) will be serving in 11 different countries. 11 MONTHS/11 COUNTRIES. What??? – I know! The way it’ll work is each month my team & I will pack up our backpacks & go to a new country. We’ll be going to: Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, South Asia, Nepal, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Spain, Argentina, Uruguay, & Chile.
If I’m being honest I have absolutely no idea what I will be doing in each of the countries. What I’m prayerful for is that I’ll get to connect with the local people & organizations, serving them to meet the unique needs of their community. So, we could be doing ANYTHING. The beauty of our route, Unscripted, is unlike traditional WR routes, when we enter into each country there will not be any established ministry partners or hosts waiting upon our arrival. Instead, we’ll be discerning where the Lord is calling us to each day & who He is calling us to encounter. To me this is the exciting part – the UNKNOWN!!!
So maybe you’re wondering WHY I’ve chosen to do the World Race… WELL, simply put I am responding to the invitation & desire the Lord has placed on my heart (stay tuned for a future blog on this). In slightly more detail, I’ve chosen to do the World Race because I choose to not be conformed by the ordinary or settle for complacency & instead, choose to live a radical life. AND out of the same way I am radically loved, I choose to bring glory to the kingdom of God.
With so much unknown the only thing I am certain of is that I will have to fully surrender & rely on the Lord for direction & this is pretty rad.
An adventure like this can not be done alone & that’s where you come in – yay. First & foremost I’m in need of prayers! & lots of them. Prayers for my team, for our families, for the people we will encounter, for myself & prayers for the church as a whole.
Second & also sososo important is your help financially. This trip is 100% fundraise base which is so sweet because this means you can join me on mission by pouring into me while I pour into others. Over the next several months I will be fundraising $17,900 with several deadlines to meet. I was so blessed by the support I received for my short term mission trip to India & I have confidence the Lord will continue to provide the funds for what He’s called me to do.
